Drift talks about the representation of Occidental population by the reapropriation of the landscape through travel and civilization. 
At the begining occidental missioner, ethnologist who start to explore and make trip for ethical research where supposed to stay focus on the subject of the study. Instead of that, they deflect their target into a story of their personal travel. Their aim turn into vanity by taking ethical research as a track.
As long as they start to sidetrack, they becam wayfarer, not missioner anymore. Consequently, their journey turned to a representation of them into exotic landscape and ethical civilization.
